Gender Fuck Thursday: Cate & Rosamund Edition

Whenever Cate Blanchett and Rosamund Pike meet each other, one of them apparently has to gender fuck. It’s the sheer alpha blonde energy, I think. It must be contained by some sort of suit. To which I say, ladies, you should hang out together more. Much, much, muchmuchmuch more. Also, talk about getting better with age.

I mean, at this rate, think how good they'll look in another 20 years?

Gender Fuck Thursday: WNBGAY Edition

One of the best things about today’s WNBA – and, make no mistake, this is all because of the players themselves – is all the acceptance of more masc/butch/stud et al presenting queer female athletes. And not just acceptance, but embrace. Heck, embrace isn’t even enough – in many cases, it’s full-on drooling over. Thinking back to 30 years ago when the league was formed, and they were scared to even admit any lesbians ever touched a basketball. All it took was three decades of non-stop fighting for our rights (and, clearly, our rights are still and always in jeopardy). But, still, it is quite something. Get it, you hot-ass ballers. You earned this.

Olivia Miles

Best suit of the orange carpet. I said what I said.

Breanna Stewart

Schoolboy shoes are working for me.

Kahleah Copper

Normally I don’t love a shiny suit. This is not normally.

Stud Budz

I’ll be honest, I don’t love the Trump ties. But I forgive them because of the Thing 1 & Thing 2 hair.

Paige Bueckers

Are “The Matrix”-era sunglasses back? This is like B-ball Trinity.

Gender Fuck Thursday: Tennis, Anyone

I guess I’m just feeling sporty this week. But what was in the water, or should I say wardrobes, at Wimbledon this year? I noticed celeb-after celeb – queer or otherwise – rocking the preppy menswear. And, I can’t help it, I kind of love it. WASPy, old money gender fuck is secretly one of my favorite categories of gender fuck. Like, damn, Jodie and Alexandra. You make me want to pitch a show called Real Lesbian Housewives of Cape Cod. Though, honestly, thanks to Ralph Lauren, everyone at Wimbledon looked like they were about to ask the unpopular girl in the handsewn dress to prom.

Jodie Foster & Alexandra Hedison

Emma Corrin
Cynthia Erivo
Nicole Kidman
Rashida Jones
Sarah Pidgeon
Right, so who above is taking you to prom? Yes, obviously, I already called dibs on Jodie. (Sorry, Alexandra, not sorry.)

Gender Fuck Thursday: Amber Glenn

Well now, let’s skate into (see what I did there) to our final Thursday of Pride. Please allow pansexual skating star Amber Glenn to Gender Fuck Up your day skating in a shiny suit to “That’s Life” belted out by Lady Gaga (take that, Sinatra). Truly, it feels like every word of that lat sentence was scientifically engineered to make a homophobic boomer’s eye twitch. For the rest of you, you’re welcome.

Gender Fuck Thursday: DeLaria Edition

Did we know Lea DeLaria was married? Where have I been? Congrats, Big Boo! Lea is one of the very first out comics I ever remember seeing on TV. She was the first out comic to appear on late-night with a 1993 appearance on “The Arsenio Hall Show.” A queer trailblazer in every sense of the world. And, since it’s Thursday, those blazers aren’t too bad either. A cool butch before masc was a thing, and cool now no matter what’s a thing. Mazel tov, Lea.

Gender Fuck Thursday: Stephanie Hsu

Since we’re talking about Broadway babes this week, let’s not forget our new Janet. As in “Dammit, Janet, we love you!” Not only is out queer actress Stephanie Hsu the new Janet in Broadway’s “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” she is half way to her nominations EGOT. She got an Oscar nom for “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” and now a Tony nom for “Rocky.” She just needs to record an album and then get herself some AppleTV+ series for that Emmy nom. Piece of cake. Oh, and thanks for the suit – and the ladyspreading. Ahem.

Gender Fuck Thursday: Jodie

My goal is to bring you a stunning queer woman in a suit every Thursday this month. Why? It’s been a hard year and we’re not even half way through yet. You deserve this. We all do. Like, did you know there are a set of black-and-white shots from photographer Thalia Gochez’s Wall Street Journal shoot with Jodie Foster? And did you know Thalia called Jodie, “sweet.” Now, isn’t that a lovely thing to see and hear on a Thursday?

Gender Fuck Thursday: Eat This Edition

Remember how I said I’ve added “America’s Culinary Cup” to my cooking competition carousel because, well, Padma? I feel blessed by the food TV gods these days because I get Padma in outfits like, well, see above on “America’s Culinary Cup.” And then I get Kristen Kish in outfits like these, also see above, on “Top Chef.” It’s almost too delicious. Almost. Consider me greedy, I’m hungry for both. Ahem.

Gender Fuck Thursday: Kate the Always Great

Since the vintage tank did well, then a vintage suit – and I mean truly vintage – should do just fine. Just fine indeed. Oh, Kate. Truly, how did this movie come out 84 years ago and she looked that gay. I mean, come on, that stride? Woman of the Year, indeed.

Gender Fuck Thursday: Jodie's Tux

Wait, why did no one tell me that in addition to speaking French throughout the whole movie, Jodie Foster also appears in a tuxedo in “A Private Life”? It’s like you don’t even care about my happiness. I’ll have to think about this for a while. You know, to heal our trust. That’s the only reason I plan to think about these photos of Jodie in a tux with slicked back hair. Yep, trust. Anyway, it’s a Thursday so if you, like, me, were not aware of these facts then you are now welcome.

Gender Fuck Thursday of a Certain Age

Someone called me “creepy” for noting that Amber Glenn, who is a 26-year-old fully adult woman, is hot. Which, I might add, could just be empirical fact. Regardless, I would like to comfort those who are concerned about my moral compass, that I would never actually initiate any real-world romantic relationships with someone approximately half my age. Nor do I want to. But, also, I have eyes that work – and I’m not dead. Anyway, to not offend anyone’s sensibilities – delicate or otherwise – how about some Gender Fuck Thursday of a Certain Age? All these women are well within an appropriate age bracket for a Gen Xer who keeps throwing those AARP invitations in the trash.

Suranne Jones, 47

It’s the manspreading for me.

Tracy Chapman, 61

Boy, I wish she would play publicly more so I could objectify the shit out of her…talent.

Cate Blanchett, 56

I’ve never pulled off a velvet suit this well at any age.

Jodie Foster, 63

Granted, I might be on the edge of youngish for Jodie depending on her May-December tolerance. Which clearly would be the only thing holding us back and not the fact that she’s already married and also Jodie Foster.

Jenna Lyons, 57

I wish she was still with J.Crew, because as a Gen Xer I still have major residual nostalgia about that brand and its catalogue.

Regina King, 55

I’m pretty sure I can’t pull off an orange suit either, regardless of age.

Lena Headey, 52

I’ll always have a thing for age-appropriate florists thanks to her.

Cynthia Nixon, 59; Carrie Coon, 45; Christine Baranski, 73

Yes, I know Louisa Jacobson (34) and Taissa Farmiga (31) are just sweet baby angel children, so please accept the reverse 20+year age gap with Christine as my mea culpa.

p.s. In case further apology is needed, please accept this with my most sincere age-appropriate feelings (just put your thumb over 38-year-old Karen Gillan’s face if necessary) as everyone else is 50+.

Gender Fuck Thursday: Hot Masc Queer News

On this fine Thursday, I am happy to report that Meryl Streep’s hot masc queer daughter that I first reported on last April remains hot and masc and queer and Meryl Streep’s daughter. So, carry on, Louisa Jacobson. A grateful nation, that could really use the pick me up, thanks you. Very, very happy to be able to keep you abreast of the very latest and clearly most important news. You are welcome.
p.s. Her hands are also hot masc and queer. (As are her friends.) Just being thorough with my reporting.

Gender Fuck Thursday: A Whole New Year

Welcome to 2026, here are some hot women in hot menswear because we still deserve nice things. Honestly, they should just let us have it. It looks better on us anyway. Menswear only for women in 2026. As for the men themselves, well, let’s hope a lot more of them put in the work this year. Otherwise we’ll just have to take away the rest of their things, too. Until we can figure out what’s going on. You know, like their roles as Fortune 500 CEOs and congressmen and the President of the United States of America. Just as a start. Dream big, it’s a whole new year.

Lucy Liu & Drew Barrymore

Still Charlie’s Menswear-Wearing Angels after all these years.

Demi Moore

Now if she was the solo star and they called it “Landwoman,” maybe I’d watch.

Hayley Kiyoko

Schoolboy shorts always look better on girls, always.

Jessica Chastain

Has a man ever looked this good in a suit this color? I rest my case.

Leisha Hailey & Kate Moennig

Thank goodness they never had Alice and Shane hookup on the show. I mean, Jenny was mean enough.

Renee Rapp

Is there a premium Uber Black service where you get hot lesbians as your chauffeur? Because in that case, you win capitalism, sign me up.

Michelle Yeoh

Start with a hot Asian lady in a beige suit, end with a hot Asian lady in a beige suit. Now that’s what I call some blog post feng shui.

Vacation Vixen: Lucy & Julien

I mean, if these two aren’t just the cutest, most Ralph Lauren pair you’ve ever seen. It’s like the cute preppy heartthrob in the 80s high school movie, but lesbians. And so on theme, Lucy and Julien, given the first day of 2026 is a Thursday.
