Tank Top Tuesday

So even though it may seem like all I ever do is sit on my ass on the couch and watch TV, this is amazingly not actually the case. To be sure, I watch a lot of television. But I don’t watch everything. Now I feel downright righteous about some of non-watching stands. Still other shows make me feel downright bad about not watching. To atone for my guilt, I’d like to offer up my thank you for the lovely actresses involved. A few more tank tops like this and I’ll have to go on a series DVD renting spree of epic proportions. Good thing I like my couch.

Grace Park, Battlestar GalacticaYes, I still have never watched BSG. Please don’t tell anyone or the Geek Police will surely come to my house and arrest me for crimes against nerdiness.

Evangeline Lilly, LostThis being the final season and all, it seems ridiculous to start. Also ridiculous? A smoke monster.

Anna Paquin, True BloodI love vampires. I love Alan Ball. I have no idea why I’m not watching this show.

Chloe Sevigny, Big LoveNow this one I don’t feel quite as bad about. I mean, even Chloe said last season was “awful.”

Jessica Stroup, 90210I never watched the original either.

Blake Lively, Gossip GirlI know this show is a guilty pleasure, just not for me (sorry, Heather).

Billie Piper, Dr. WhoEvery time I happen on this show I feel two distinct things: 1) Lost and 2) Like if I wasn’t lost I’d really be enjoying myself.

Katie McGrath, MerlinSyFy had a marathon over the weekend. I had to stop to see why Rachel Weisz’s doppelganger/younger sister was running around with knights and wizards.

Stana Katic, CastleReally, I should watch just to support Captain Tight Pants. I’m a bad Whedonite.

Toni Collette, United State of TaraI have shamefully never watched. But I have the entire second season sitting on my desk. So, you know, that’s going to change.

p.s. No, really, the second season. It's a screener. Jealous?

You know, there's one more show you need to put on the list of shows you don't have the time to watch, but should. Legend of the Seeker. It's full of awesome, bad ass female characters. Also, powerful!magic.

Castle is worth checking out - dunno if the back episodes are on hulu. Fun and full of that witty banter. Nathan Fillon plays a fantastic feminist male character, and Stana Katic - haaaaawwwt. OH the hawtness. Absolutely worth it. No pressure, or anything, but if you have a couple hours to kill...

woah woah woah. I've been following this blog for a little while and have never commented but if you've never watched BSG I feel I need to speak up. Get on it girl! It may change your life.

I second the votes for BSG and Castle. Both are wonderful in very different ways. In addition to Stana, Castle also has the magnificent Susan Sullivan and Molly Quinn as the title character's mother and daughter, and I love them all. :)

You don´t watch true blood, because it´s basically all about how Eric is sexy and everyone only wants him? With this attitude it´s kinda similar to Twilight. Just about the main boy show. Girls are there only to be around and not be in any way hotter or smarter, than the Guy is:) ( PS - sorry about my crappy English)

@ Runespell - I don't really like Eric, and I still enjoy this show very much. Maybe girls who watch the show are drooling over this particular character, but he doesn't play that big a part! In first season he's almost not there at all. There are loads of other interesting characters thought, like Tara, Lafayette, Sam, Jason, Sookie etc. It's definitely nothing like Twilight...

@noida - I have read the books, so I know for a fact, that the whole series is basically about Eric:) But, sure, there are some interesting characters! Like.....(I cant´think of anyone now) Oh, wait, I know! The fairy twins - now those are real fun! I love fantasy and these shows are both fantasy type - so I would say there are at least some similarities...Oh well, maybe the third season will actually be good, we´ll just have to wait and see:)

I think United States of Tara is only just starting it's second season. I watched the first season on DVD in a marathon weekend - awesome but now wondering about my own alters....

I'm am absolutely not a sci-fi fan and would never have given BSG a thought if my girlfriend hadn't begged me to watch it with her. After a couple of episodes, I was surprised - and hooked.

Castle is awesome. I haven't been this entertained in a while...I thought Bones was it, but then found Castle instead. Nathan Fillion's comedic timing is priceless (you should check out his PG Porn short on youtube...) and as previously posted, Stana Katic is gawjus!

@ Runespell. I have only read the first book and in my opinion it's definitely worse than the series. Thankfully they changed quite a lot - imo for the better. Let's hope it stays that way :)

BSG was a great series and really worth the watch. Caprica however is sadly lacking. Don't watch any of the others you have listed either.

I'm with you on the not-watching on all of these except LOST and UNITED STATES OF TARA. The former I started just because I was sick of being lost during conversations. The latter is AMAZING, and you need to get on that stat.

You basically have to start True Blood RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND. There are only two seasons at the moment and the next one's not 'til June! JUNE!!! Eye twitch.

I mean, as you said, it's Alan Ball and therefore amazing. And LIZZIE CAPLAN (Mean Girls, Cloverfield) is in it! And Maryann (season 2) is totally hot.

I'm afraid that I, in fact, watch almost all of the shows you haven't...sigh. And I also watch almost all of the shows you do watch, so I have no life. BTW...Billie Piper in Dr. Who...no Billie Piper in Secret Diary of Call Girl...yes...hot...

I am wicked jealous of your USofT screener! Toni Collette is well beyond amazing and completely fearless. She deserves every award she gets for that roll!

Billie Piper = Secret diary of a call girl! Mind, erm, blowing stuff.

Please, please -- if you must watch Dr. Who, watch the classic series. William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton were sheer unmitigated brilliance, though some stories were better than others; Jon Pertwee & Co. were hilarious and awesome (actors and writing); and the early Tom Baker stories were brilliantly dark and brilliantly written. It's so good it doesn't matter there's no gay.

The new series, in comparison, is sadly lacking.

Morgana = yummie :)

I think the actor looks great, and I always interest what is the drama, I mean galactica,
but I never have chance to watch cus I'm generally
busy even don't do anything, feel busy.

by the way, today the mood seems a little
not exciting? is it cus of the weather?
yesterday, today, it's kind of bad weather.
mother nature is alway good to love,

just dislike rainy, but so much love after rain
cus street is clean.

It just came up my mind now that,
sometimes, it might not that related each other
I mean when one thing happens and something follow next, It might not relate, I mean separate things,

but human like to make connection between
something to analyze or to understand? maybe?

I'm talking this, just talk.
I'll talk tomorrow, it just tomorrow's talk.

that's all.

thanks for the gentle tank top tuesday,
without so much emotion I can go back
to work gently. :) like you ds.

A few months ago I got into a comment board, er, squabble with a Brit who said Americans were too dumb to appreciate Merlin. So I was extra delighted to see your pic of Katie McGrath! I love the complexity and depth of her character.

Stana Katic is seriously the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen (and hey, she played an incredibly stereotypical sporty spice lesbian in the film Feast of Love - evidently kissing Selma Blair is some sort of requirement in earning girly gaymo stripes). You really should check out Castle - it's really well written and highly addictive! The banter between she and Nathan Fillion is brilliant.

Dear Dorothy, please watch this promo, then tell me WHY you are not watching Castle.

The lovely Stana once had a love scene in Feast of Love with Selma Blair - lickable!

When you're ready for True Blood, I've got both seasons to loan your way. And I watch 90210 just for JS. Her character is the only thing redeeming about the remake.

(Also, I've never gotten beyond the BSG miniseries.)
