Guaranteed Oscar

You know how you can be happily going about your daily business, obliviously living your life and generally feeling fairly fulfilled when, BAM, something happens and you realize how realize wrong you were. I do not know how I lived a normal, healthy, productive life without ever having watched Kate Winslet's guest appearance on “Extras.” Seriously, I now consider almost everything before it prelude to actually living.

“Hang on, why's this slut from next door just coming into my bedroom and taking her bra off?” I knew that underneath her elegant, polished exterior, Kate could be delightfully bawdy. And I had heard her appearance was hilarious. But, seeing is really believing. Like, for instance, this might just be my new wallpaper.

And what I really, really love is that Kate looks nearly a lock to finally get that Oscar, and for a Holocaust movie to boot. “Schindler's bloody List!” She might be “polishing” her own Oscar soon enough.

Oh my god. :D Trying to hold my laughter in so badly so that I don't wake up my roommate! That was a brilliant appearance by Kate! Wickedly funny!

Heh, I love all the guest spots on Extras, and Kate's was definitely one of the best ones.

Too bad she's going to get robbed of her Oscar by Meryl Streep. No way around it, Streep has way more yelling in her film - that always says "serious dramatic achievement" to the Academy.

No wonder at times like these we, fellow Britons of Kate the Great, claim that this represents and epitomises British comedy. Sadly, only few do it the Ricky Gervais way. Nobody else in the comic realms likes him. He is a twat.

Back to the money, though- the concept of Kate Winslet should be made into some sorts of a religion. It'd have even the atheists screaming for forgiveness. She makes me proud. :)

OMG that's frackin funny! I was wondering what Ricky was referring to at the Globes and now I get it!

I've always loved Kate Winslet! She was one of my first girl-crushes! I watched her at the Golden Globes and her second speech was just beautiful. I cried, not gonna lie. I'll be watching the Oscars and rooting for her all the way!!!

Dmitri: I think Kate has a lot more momentum leading up to the Oscars than Meryl Streep. She may be Meryl Streep (love love love her) but Kate is coming off of an epic Golden Globes night where she took home the prizes for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. The nominations for the Oscars are submitted just after the GGs, so I see momentum propelling her further then Meryl Streep. Streep's biggest movie of the year (that has kept her in the spotlight) has been Mamma Mia! for crying out loud.

Muy gracioso!! Intelligent, gorgeous and a great sense of humor- looks like she's giving Tina Fey a run for her money, eh, Ms Snarker?

That was hilarious, thanks for it!

Anon called her a MILF?? She's bloody 33 years old! LMAO Isn't that rushing things a bit??

And re: the clip - I think anyone that is willing to send up their public image like that is obviously the opposite and very, very cool (not to mention funny as hell)

Kate is a goddess...a down to earth, self-deprecating goddess. when I picture being alone with Ms Winslet, I picture the scene in Fried Green Tomatoes in the kitchen with all the food. (hold on, heart rate just spiked...)

she's insanely lovely....
