Well, I don’t know how I missed this when it came out two years ago. But, goodness, what a reminder that our community has always come together to find safety and solidarity. As our trans family comes under relentless attack from Trump and the GOP (who are, in essence, legislating them out of existence), we must provide that safety and solidarity for them whenever we can. You can watch the full PBS documentary about the 50s-60s haven Casa Susanna in the Catskills on PBS Passport or for free on Youtube. I plan to give it a watch this weekend as inspiration for our continued fight for progress, equality and places where we can simply be ourselves. What a fucking concept.
