My Weekend Crush
I think Penélope Cruz is ridiculously, outrageously, spectacularly sexy. I’ve thought about the reasons for this quite a bit and beyond the obvious (hello, eyes, I have them) I think it’s because of the bump on her nose. It’s subtle, sure, but it’s also unquestionably there as clear as – um, well, you know – the nose on her face. I think it’s that study in imperfection in the otherwise pristine that makes her so captivating. Pretty is as pretty does, but it’s the flaws that keep the eye coming back. Like that one pebble thrown onto an otherwise smooth lake that makes you really pay attention. Not that Penelope is actually flawed. Pedro Almodóvar is no fool. She is practically perfect. I’m unabashedly covetous of her fantastic hair and her bedroom eyes. Plus her penchant for cuddling with the ladies on screen and off screen doesn’t hurt either. Not one bit. But it’s that tiny hiccup in her gorgeous giddy-up that makes all the difference. Happy weekend, all.
Yes.

ReplyDeleteds, are you okay?
ReplyDeletei'm good,hope you too.
Penelope first caught my eye in Jamon Jamon and then the wonderful film Belle Epoque (I prefer her foreign film work over most of her English speaking roles, thus far).
ReplyDeleteHowever I would have to say that I've been "crushing" on Penelope since seeing her in the fantastic film "Don't Tempt Me" (Sin noticias de Dios) opposite Victoria Abril and Gael Garcia Bernal.
To anyone who hasn't seen this little gem of a film... if you're a Penelope fan, it's a must see. It has lesbian subtext/undertones and let's just say that it also makes great use of the song Kung Fu Fighting (you'll have to watch the film to get the full visual, but it's great).
And finally who could forget "All About My Mother" or "Volver" when speaking about really great work that Penelope has done?
but she is not an actress...
ReplyDeletepoor acting even almodovar ....
