This is very sad, obviously. But also, in a strange way, very joyful. These two people who loved each other so deeply and knew each other do intently were ultimately, there for each other until the very end. I still cannot believe we live in a world without both Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. But at least they will always have each other.
The Ultimate love
ReplyDeleteCarrie was in the Hallmark TV Christmas movie titled 'It's Christmas Carol', where she played a ghost named Eve.
ReplyDeleteWatching the trailer to that movie now is very eerie considering the circumstances surrounding Carrie's death, like having the first near fatal heart-attack on the plane on the eve of Christmas eve and passing away just after Christmas with a second heart-attack.
Her father Eddie Fisher's song "That's the Chance You Take" is used in the movie soundtrack to 'Carol'. as well.
Debbie Reynolds was also in a movie titled 'A Christmas Wish' and this year Debbie seemed to get hers when she said she only wanted to be with Carrie.
This year was certainly a creepy Christmas, especially with the passing of George Michael on Christmas Day also.
And if you have seen the movie 'La La Land' where Emma Stone's character Mia calls out to Ryan Gosling's character Sebastian and says, "George Michael" and Gosling turns around to face Stone, that's rather synchromystically creepy, too.
I don't think even Stephen King could have written a creepier set of Christmas events into a story than the ones we just had, even if he called that novel 'Carrie 2'
