My God, it has only been two weeks. Two. Weeks. Now only 206 more weeks to go. *laugh cries hysterically* But, dear kittens, we will survive. We will fight. Together. Stronger. Because we’re worth it.
Back during the DNC they said "only" 60 days until the election. It seemed forever to wait to see her elected. 206 weeks is just too depressing to contemplate.
There are nearly 6,000,000 signatures on a petition to have Electoral College members vote for Hillary; many can do so without penalty. Dorothy, please look this up for yourself and spread the your findings. Here is my rationale:
The United States Constitution has a policy in place that allows for adjustments when the number of Electoral College votes is disproportionate to the popular vote. Electoral College members are not bound by the Constitution to vote as indicated by popular vote in their specific state. While it is true that some states have passed laws imposing penalties if a member bucks tradition, each member is federally bound only to vote, using good sense and representing the citizens who put them in office. It is therefore the responsibility of the Electoral College to reflect the actual will of the American people. Those people have spoken, and it is time to translate those words into democratic action, not expectation or tradition.

We need to think about the following issues (some might not think they are valid issues, but they did cause voters to vote Trump)
-how to penetrate right-wing people's bubble. suggestion: more language-neutral headlines on twitter to spread the news and facts.
-how to make the christain feel less threatened. suggestion: let people wish each other merry Xmas instead of happy holiday. Trump did say in one of his rally : 'you can say merry Xmas at the end of the year'. I think it's really appealling to the christain.
-how to make people feel less threatened by the tran folks issue. suggestion: having more unisex toilets instead of pushing laws to require state government to change their present practice.
-how to help those once voted obama, but now voted Trump because of economic reason.
here here!
ReplyDeleteEvery waking hour seems like it is at least three hours long. Sleep is elusive but that is the only time I feel ok, except for the nightmares...
