Zoie's cat fancy

How to endear yourself to your lesbian fans in four easy steps: 1) Be great at what you do. 2) Be nice to us. 3) Be really attractive. 4) Be so adorably into your cat you make it a Twitter account. Zoie Palmer, you’ve won our adoration forever. Step right up and claim your prize of our moony eyed eternal devotion and this free toaster oven.

A couple of weeks ago “Lost Girl” star Zoie Palmer, a.k.a. Dr. Lauren Lewis a.k.b.l.a. (Also Known By Lesbians As), Dr. Hoptpants created a Twitter account for her cat Clover. It’s called @cloverblob and it’s ridiculously cute. This comes after she dressed up her cat during the winter and posted pictures of its prone displeasure for all to see. But dressing up your cat is one thing. Creating a Twitter account is another. And she Clover updates it quite frequently with rude missives about her owner, alternately called Zoieblob or Skinnybum, depending on feline mood. Sample Tweet:

So, there you have it. As if we weren’t smitten enough by Zoie because of her nuanced portrayal of Lauren and scintillating chemistry with Anna Silk, we must now add another layer of adoration. See, it’s really easy to please us gay ladies. The formula is foolproof, really. Talented, funny, hot, nice and into her cat. Done.

p.s. Also, it’s hard to resist a woman who admires you while you’re admiring her. So. You know. There’s that.

Representation is important to any minority, particularly for groups that still don't have full social acceptance and are often actively discriminated against. It is wonderful to have someone like ZP who isn't afraid to be open and proud about something that others might keep secret for fear that it might damage their popularity or standing. Although I've never really tried to hide it, it does make it much easier to be honest and open when there are figures in the public eye to act as role models and to trash the stereotypes that cause prejudice, dislike, and fear. Hence I say this:

Zoie Palmer, from Crazy Cat Ladies everywhere: THANK YOU!

Zoie Palmer's sense of humour is just wonderful and it makes her even more attractive. Her cat is cuddly, so pretty and quite a character. Combined cat and owner, I'm putty in their hands. I enjoy her (their) tweets so much. I mean this woman smack talked God lol!

Zoie, if you're reading this, please don't ever stop tweeting. Both you and your cat!

  10. I can't believe I'm actually going to follow a cat on Twitter...but I can't help myself if it's ZP's.

I hope she realizes she has a fanatical fanbase for life.

Clover is adorable, just like her owner. Zoie Palmer's sense of humor is just the greatest.
I love it and her. Zoie never change, stay as sweet and funny as you are. I'm one of your biggest fans from the U S of A, just across the lake in Michigan.

First thing I do when I get to work is to look for some tweets from cloverblob and Zoie - they always make me laugh. But I feel sorry for the doggie - she seems to be a bit neglected - and she is cute too (Ok I love BOTH cats and dogs - I hope it's not too weird ;-) ).
And I totally adore Zoie Palmer - I feel like I'm teenager all over again with a huge crush on a person I've never met (and probably never will). sigh...

kaca_ben, I love the dog too. Suki looks like a sweetheart. I actually came to see Clover and Suki as a bit like Garfield and Odie. Clover is probably more of a character, thus a greater source of amusement for Zoie and the rest of us. That said, I don't mind seeing a bit more of the dog too.

And it's honestly ridiculous how much I swoon over Ms Palmer! She's also the hottest crazy cat lady I've ever seen.

Oh gawd after tonight's epic tweets between Zoie Palmer and Allana Harkin (she played the coach in Lost Girl, 2.16 "School's Out" episode), about of all things, dislocated vagina, I've decided Zoie is my dream woman. And she's tweeting about 'flicking the button' between takes. Seriously considering proposing.

That Zoie/Allana thing was absolutely incredibly, I could have broken my ass laughing. What a woman.
