But here is the thing about Bo and Lauren. Their sex scenes have been perfect. Too long in the coming? Yes. The slowest slow boil ever? Yes. Excruciating in their sexual tension? Yes, yes, God yes. But once they finally arrived? Perfect, just perfect. And here is why. While we’ve only had two all too brief sex scenes between our favorite bisexual succubus and her favorite human doctor, they’ve shown progress. Real, natural, organic, sexy as hell progress. Shall I dissect further? Of course I shall.
In their first love scene, it went how first times often go. It was tender, and a tad tentative. First times are exploratory missions, about finding one’s footing and making a good impression. Passion mixed with wonder. Like, whoa, is this really happening? Yes, this is really happening. Like, you know, this.
But then the second time, the second time went how second times often go. It was hot, and all hunger. Second times are singularly minded, about getting off and damning all niceties. Desire mixed with impatience. Like, why the fuck are these clothes here? Get these fucking clothes off immediately if not sooner. Like, you know, this.
But do you know what else makes Bo and Lauren’s second time so perfect? It wasn’t just the delicious, delicious tearing off of each other’s clothes to get to the juicy center. And the thing where Bo pulls Lauren back to her by her thighs. Her thighs. It was that kiss Bo gives a sleeping Lauren on the cheek. That gentle little moment tells us it’s not just sex. Not just a booty call. Not just a medicinal romp. It’s something more. Something special. Something like love. Now don’t fuck this up, Nadia. Or I swear I will have your cryogenically frozen ass turned into a popsicle.
p.s. Anyone else happily surprised by how much of a top our reserved Dr. Hotpants is? Also, how nicely her topping behavior shows off them guns? Go get ’er, cowgirl.
It reminded me of tibette sex scene from 506 (the stir fry sex scene).
ReplyDeleteSee the jeans pulling?

Now I know why I've been so jittery this last month. Doccubus withdrawal. I heaved a huge sigh of relief. When I first saw 'the scene' I thought, they ruined it by not showing more tenderness but the more I ...ahem.. saw it, you know scientific curiosity and all, the hotter it seemed to get... Zoie and Anna nailed it... :D
ReplyDeletei loved it all, and yes it was sexy as hell. And that tenderkiss at the end....PERFECTION. But I gotta say this now, I was planning on stating it on afterellen with ur recap, but I believe Nadia is a misdirection to add drama.
ReplyDeleteI believe and it ain't just wishful thinkin, that Nadia is Lauren's friend who just happens to be a girl. The show gave us hints.
HINT #1 when Kenzi confronts Lauren about breaking Bo's heart, lauren replies "I get the the whole best-friend thing. I do."
Hint #2: I've read the comments made by fans about Lauren saying" Hey Babe" to Nadia, but in the scene right before Kenzi conforts Bo and says " What's up Babe?" a coincidence I think not.
Hint #3 The way Lauren talks about Bo to Nadia is the way you would talk to a best friend about someone you've fallen in love with, hardly a lover who is in some kind of coma.
And last but not least The Morrigan does not like Bo...so it is natural she would use the word girlfriend to mean something more.
Happy Birthday Ms. Snarker! What a great present for you, and damn that last scene was HOT!!
ReplyDeleteYup, I think Kim M is talking a lot of sense. But still, I'm with Dorothy on the whole popsicle thing....even though I'm not entirely sure what a popsicle is lol
ReplyDeleteYeah I love that Dr-sweet-lovely-doesn't-seem-really-agressive-Hotpants is a top, or actually that she likes to switch, which is great.
ReplyDeleteBye stereotypes, Byyyyeee!
I wish I had such a lovely present for my birthday: Happy Birthday Dorothy!
Happy B-Day, Snarker!
ReplyDeleteI know it's a pointless semantic dither, but the show has driven me to it: I had an argument with my friend (who is a girl) about the relative intimacy implied by the word "babe" as opposed to the word "baby."
As Kim M noted, Kenzi and Bo call each other babe and are not in lesbians with each other. Last ep, Dyson called Bo babe and he is certainly not in lesbians with her... anymore. If Lauren had called Nadia "baby" or "honey" or "sweetheart," I would be worried.
Also? Nadia did not look human to me. Did you see that bitch's feet?
Happy birthday to the glorious Ms. Snarker! You have an amazing way of brightening every morning before work for me, so thank you and I hope this year finds you well!
ReplyDeleteIt was hot, and all hunger. Second times are singularly minded, about getting off and damning all niceties. === I love you for saying this, happy birthday, Ms Snarker, happy fucking "I hope you get off'' Birthday.

ReplyDeleteThis! I <3 you for this, and completely agree. These were my exact thoughts! Happy birthday, Snarker ^-^
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!! May all your Doccubus dreams come true - mainly so that mine will too ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you pointed out the thigh-grabbingness of the scene; I completely did not expect that, and almost fainted at the hotness. This was so worth the wait.
Nadia had better be her sister or something... *crosses fingers*
Happy Birthday Ms Snarker!
ReplyDeleteA very happy birthday to our fearless lesbian leader of the fangirls! ;)

ReplyDelete<3
Happy Birthday Ms Snarker!!! Hope you have, like, a million more even happier ones!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd about Lost Girl... 'bout damn time! No more Doccubus blocking! Its bad for the soul!
The first time Lauren topped, I put it down to just a bit of directorial practicality, so that Bo could do the whole thing with the necklace. Am rather delighted to learn otherwise, and it does make sense with the character - she's not naturally submissive, but she's been forced into that role by circumstance.
ReplyDeleteOnly Bo gets to see otherwise. Love that Lauren takes charge and I love that Bo lets her. Not least because Palmer seems just an infintesimal fraction less inhibited about this stuff than Silk. Which is ironic, really.
I also don't think Lauren would call anybody "babe" casually. It seems likely to me that Nadia and Lauren were indeed an item once, but that there are some mitigating factors we're not aware of yet. Either Nadia has been effectively dead for so long that Lauren's learned to cope, or they weren't still a thing when Nadia got podded. Latter seems more Lauren to me.
Also, holy hell gun show. And those hands. And those hips. More of that please Ms. Palmer, we promise we'll still respect you come mornin'.
What's the verdict on the question raised in show - Does Bo have a right to be mad?
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday Ms. Snarker!! I hope you have a great day! Thank you for entertaining and informing me for years now. My day never feels right if I haven't read your blog. You're one of my favorite writers. I hope you get some awesome presents.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Ms. Snarker.... Thank you ever so much for posts like this..
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Ms. Snarker!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for waxing poetic about Lost Girl...and now for this Nadia chick...those evil writers for sure will be torturing us to new levels of stress and tension!
However, I believe love will prevail...how can it not with all that hotness and feeling between Bo and Lauren?
Relatively speaking, the sex scene was shorter and contained more clothing.
ReplyDeleteI'm just happy that the Bo I fell in love with might finally be back!
Happy Birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOROTHY!
ReplyDeleteAll the best, love you lots
A very happy b'day and an even better, "new year"!!
ReplyDeleteAppreciate everyone's comments and insights.
ReplyDeleteI had also pondered over the contrast between the sex scenes in season 1 and 2 (and posted a poll using Twitter in #LostGirl to obtain feedback):

I disagree with Hasserbine's comments about Silk being less inhibited in the sex scenes. IMHO it's Palmer that's more timid and she's topping her.
ds, you hooked 32 comments today,
ReplyDeletehahaha!
thanks for the posting, girls look wild.
where did you find the movies,
i can't find anything like that.
usually like vampire, and something gloomy.
niceday~ love you!
Thank you sooooo much for working hard on your birthday! Here's hoping that Nadia is actually Lauren's TWIN sister. Oh Doccubus sexytimes x 2...
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Ms. Snarker, can I just say that you and your blog make me smile everyday, no matter what happens? Also, before I came to terms with my love of ladies and ladies who love ladies I didn't feel that it was normal or okay. But your blog has taught me otherwise, so thank you for that. May you live long. :D
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Ms. Snarker! Thank you for bringing a little dose of hot ladies, serious issues, and always humor to me year after year. :)
ReplyDeleteBonne fête Ms Snarker et merci pour tant d humour et de finesse au quotidien.
ReplyDeleteUne "fan" de Montréal
Johanne
Thank you, just thank you! And Happy Bday!
ReplyDeleteAll been said above. Happy Bday to the queen of Snark- long may you continue bringing us Doccubussy goodness!
ReplyDeletemy theory is nadia is a fae and a patient of lauren like bo. nadia fell in love with lauren and lauren made her the subject of her radical experiment, but it went wrong. that's why dyson so resisted the medical appointment with lauren and told bo that lauren 'won't love you, she is just leading you on' in the first season.
ReplyDeletehappy birthday! i feel like i always say the same thing here XD but YUM! you sure know how to make a girl happy!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday. even though i feel like i'm the one getting presents every time you update the blog :)
ReplyDeleteAh Happy day- Doccubus action conbined with the joys of Tank Top Tuesday. Happy belated Bday Ms Snarker¡
ReplyDeleteP.S. The top thing? Totally. I thought that the first time (1x08) but the second time made it like official. I imagine that's quite a big deal for Bo to let someone top her too, cos as far as I can recall, that's not the way it goes in any other sex scenes in the series.
ReplyDeleteI love extrapolating the niceties of sexual politics from 60 seconds of fictional television, it makes me feel like I'm not wasting my life...
Happy Belated Birthday DS!!! Just got power back here in CT which means I get a whole week of your posts all in one day...a pretty lovely early birthday present on this end.
