A perfect match

Right, so now I think they’re just fucking with us. Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles at speed dating? Jane and Maura ending up with each other? Jane and Maura being called “a perfect match?” BE MORE GAY, RIZZOLI & ISLES. Seriously. What I’ve always enjoyed about this show is that the powers that be haven’t shied away from the undeniably electric chemistry and unabashed female friendship. Quite the contrary, TNT seems to be reveling in it. In fact after that promo, come on, they’re practically taunting us with the subtext. They’re essentially begging us to make it maintext. Don’t think we won’t, TNT. Don’t think we won’t. Have you seen some of the photo manips out there? Yeah, we’re ready.

Speaking of ready, have you seen the finished use-that-crime-scene-like-a-catwalk promo?

Good gravy, do we really need to wait until July? That just seems interminably long until the return of all that eye sex. Sigh.

Oh Goody , another season of deluding ourselves by erroneously projecting lesbian intent onto Rizzoli and Isles.

  5. You convinced me to watch this show. Looks like TNT is rerunning season one in order to lead into season 2. I just saw S1E1, and my DVR is set to get the rest.

  9. That promo pissed me off. After I watched it the first time I felt like I had been slapped in the face. Seriously. I can handle them playing up the hetero romances but what I can't stand is them blatantly taunting us with the possibly of these two characters getting together when they know full well that they won't.
That promo was rude and they did it on purpose.

I agree... the conspiration theory sometimes shouts at me saying something about a anti-gay plot [that sounds like]: "Do you see? it is possible to (deeply) love another woman just as a friend? there is *no need* to be/act as a homo/gay to have this". Well, maybe is just me. Nonetheless, I enjoy the show.

  11. I hate her politics, but damn if Angie Harmon isn't hot enough to make me not care when she's on screen. TNT is just teasing us lesbians, but I'll take it as long as Angie and Sasha keep serving up the chemistry and eye-sex in spades. Thanks for the links!

  12. Holy crap! Can't they just go down to city hall and make it official? They already act married to each other, so let's just get it on paper.

Goddamn, that's gay. I could not love this show more, and, personally, think it's AWESOME that the actresses are aware of the subtext and more than willing to play it. I guess I choose to see the bright side of it, in that they know they can't give us everything we want but will give us what they can.

  14. On the one hand, awesome promo. On the other hand, as a few commenters above me said, it is a little bittersweet too. Especially since, unlike the majority of the shows on TV (in Seattle for example). The show takes place in one of the places where they could do something like actually get.... married.... at their marriage ceremony.

Bittersweet. Still. I watched Xena for the Subtext, and as long as they don't bring in the Catholic Priest (if you've read the books you know who I'm talkin' about) or they do to Rizzoli what they did to her wayyy to early in the books. I'll be happy...

that's the kind of teasing I'm used to it since Xena. It was all the same...

    Same Subtext, different Show

    1. I agree.... It was cruel to annkunce them as a couple only not to give them as one to us in the show.

OMG!! I know I'm months, if not years, behind. But I had kind of thought that the only reason I found this show so gay was that, having never seen it, I was only aware of the bits that get into the recaps, but, I'll say it again: OMG. The PRODUCERS made that? Not the fans?!
I WANT TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY WITH RIZZOLI & ISLES ON THE TV!!!!

  18. Yeah.... Its 2020 and I v just found out about the so obvious gay promo and know I m even more pissed off thst they hadnt been the couple in the show! CNo we are not gay. " This is such an ugly thing to do to the fans! They v played into our emotions so much and tsunted us to earn fans and followers and in the end gave us nothing.

Even Xena bowed down to announce openly that Xena and Gab were a couple, and Janet Tamaro and the gang didnt. I m officially pissed off!
