Damn, Natalie, you a crazy chick

Full Disclosure: I’m writing about “Black Swan” on AfterEllen today, too. So I apologize for not giving you a full complement of different topics to read about today (and yesterday – seems I’m on bit of a double-dipping jag). But (and the interesting stuff if always after the but) in this post I get to curse and talk more about the naughty and plain old batshit crazy parts of the trailer. In other words, pull up a chair, darling.

Right, first things first, watch this thing. If you know nothing, the 10-second set up is that Natalie Portman plays a ballerina with the New York City Ballet who finally gets her shot at the prime role in “Swan Lake,” only to have newcomer Mila Kunis rival her.

Holy fucking shit, right? I am freaked out, I am turned on, I am buying a ticket.

Now much has been made of the kiss (and sex scene), Natalie and Mila have in the film. Someone who read an early script called it “hungry aggressive angry sex.” Natalie called it “extreme.” Mila called it “not smut.” I was a little wary of it before (especially because it is rumored to be ecstasy induced), but now that I’ve seen the kiss I am all aboard the hate sex train.

Speaking of sex, what exactly is happening here? OK, I know what’s happening here. But, still, dayum.

And then we have Mila letting her fingers do the walking. I like this girl already.

If nothing else, you have to be impressed by Natalie’s many faces of horror. I mean, she even pulls an Edvard Munch.

Everything is most definitely not beautiful at the ballet.

  3. A.) Nice Chorus Line reference, and I hope it was deliberate. B.) I am the only lesbian on the planet who cannot stand Natalie Portman, so I probably won't be seeing this... even though it's about ballet, and I love ballet.

    Can't wait, can't wait, can't WAIT!!!

I have always loved Natalie (though not in Star Wars, but in Closer, OMG!!).

And I always thought Jackie was so hot on that 70s show and should have been making out with Donna!! Those boys were so totally unnecessary. ;)

  6. I found Requiem for a Dream really hard to watch; this seems like a return to the tragic crazies. And though I enjoyed NP in The Professional, Closer and V is for Vendetta, she really isn't one of my favorites.

Norma Desmond you are not alone.

  7. So they renamed the horror movie "Suspiria" as "Black Swan"? I reported this story July 15, 2010 (last month).

Suspiria is an intensely disturbing and frightening movie made in nthe 1960's by director Dario Argento.

    Read post here:

One of the Scariest Films Ever Made is coming back.

"In the 90’s I watched a film made in the 70’s. It was directed by the “Father of Terror:” Dario Argento and it was the movie “Suspiria”..."

Yep Portaman intially claimed to have an insignificant role but any roile featuring Natalie Portman is significant because she is a good actress.

  8. Just watched the trailer for Black Swan and despite Bloody Disgusting's cllaims and my belief that this was a remake of the Argento film Suspiria it doesn't appear to be so..

\Also despite watching Portman in some hot lesbian scenes it also doesn't feel like it's going to hold up quality wise because if the movie is about ballerinas who are secretly a coven of witches it is lost and sptinging that as a surprise will on;ly muddle the movie. Watch Suspiria and you will know what I am "talking" about.

  9. Wait. Is this a movie about "Swan Lake" whose plot is BASED on "Swan Lake"? Maybe just loosely? I'm definitely going to have to see this.

  10. I'm a fan of Aranofsky, so I'll watch this regardless of all the other stuff. That being said, Portman just BRINGS it, and Kunis is emerging as serious actress.

  11. Daaaaamn. OK, I've totally gone from "eh, I'll see it 'cause it's Natalie & Mila" to "OMG. Can I buy my tix @ Fandango yet????"

  12. I don't think my brain can handle another Mullholland Drive.

why is it that i get so irked when straight actresses do lesbian kisses by holding the other woman's face? seems to me like she doesnt want to do the kiss. in 20+ years of kissing i have NEVER held a face. do we kiss like this?

Hmm, "holding a face"...I don't recall having done that either, and I've been kissing girls for 30 years! That must be acting code for...something. I'll try it tonight and see what she says.

It WOULD be more fun if the actors learned from actual lesbians, like in Bound.
