Top Lezzy

CLICK TO VOTEWell, this is kind of an embarrassment of riches. I've made the top three of The Lezzys (the lesbian blog awards) at The Lesbian Lifestyle in three categories: Culture/Entertainment Blog, Humor Blog and Overall Lesbian Blog of the Year. Wow, that's just all sorts of awesome. Big, sloppy and gratuitous thanks to all of you who nominated my little corner of the interwebs. You are too kind. You're also pretty. What? This is a campaign.

So now, of course, I'm going to ask for your vote again. Here's what you need to know:
  • You can vote beginning at 9 a.m. EDT today until 11 p.m. 9 p.m. EDT Feb. 18.
  • You can vote once every 24 hours.
  • You must click the link in your confirmation email for your vote to count.

I was lucky enough to win Lesbian Blog of the Year last year. This year the awards have been expanded to nine categories, so be sure to vote for all of your favorite sites. All of the finalists are fantastic and a great sample of the quality and variety of work across the lesbosphere.

I want to send a special shout out to my 8 Against 8 homies (note to self: never use “homies” again in a sentence, you really can't pull that off) who also made the finals: This Girl Called Automatic-Win, Sugarbutch Chronicles, Pam's House Blend and Grace the Spot. And, as always, an enormous thank you to Kelly, aka Gold Star Dyke, over at TLL for organizing the awards in the first place.

To celebrate all the unadulterated awesome that has been amassed for The Lezzys, I'd like to share a few of the most awesome things I've seen in the past week.

Now That's SwaggerM.I.A. rocking out while 9 months pregnant at the Grammys.

OMG, that Fidelity video just about killed me! I mean, having to hold back the tears in my office on campus!

I just don't understand how anyone could see that and decide we don't deserve equal rights.
