From L to X

Dear Mama Chaiken,

Sometimes, when you get it right you get it so right. Sure I've bitched. Sure I've moaned (both the good and bad kinds, ahem). But today when I read, straight from Xena's chakram, that none other than Lucy Lawless was going to make an appearance on the final season of “The L Word” I almost forgave you for all your transgressions. (Well, not Dana, I'll never forgive you for Dana. Or the floating words. Or the inexplicable character personality whiplash between seasons...wait, wasn't I forgiving you?)

But, hello, inspired casting. To have Xena and Bette on the same show? Now that's an Alpha Lesbian pairing for the ages. I mean it, that might almost be too much for our little gay brains to compute. You might hear heads exploding all across the globe. Talk about la mort heureuse.

Sure, we don't know the specifics yet. Lucy just told us to look for her “on The L Word at some point.” But she couldn't tell us anything about it because “it's deep in the closet.” That wording has to be ironic. Look, I'll tell you right now that Lucy and Jennifer Beals better share some screen time. That's just mandatory. In fact, she better meet and mingle with the entire cast. And, as a special favor, can you have her bring the breast plate? What? I had to ask.

So, many thanks for spreading lesbionic joy among the masses. And, just in case you still have a guest spot left for yet another dykon next season, might I suggest – oh, dream of dreams – Jodie Foster. Heck, if you can get Jodie I'll even forgive you for the Dana thing. Think about it.

With love (and sometimes hate),
Ms. Snarker

p.s. While I'm a tad miffed you didn't tell me this gaytastic news in person, a big Warrior Princess sword tip to The Gentleman for relaying it instead.

I have to say that having Lucy Lawless on the show is great news (as long as Illene doesn't manage to screw it up).

I would however be even happier with an appearance from Jodie Foster, who is actually friends with Jennifer Beals, so that would be a fun bit of casting.

My hands are shaking. Lucy on L Word? I can't believe it. I'll let it sink in slowly...

And Jodie Foster would be a nice addition, too. And Tina Fey.

Jennifer, Jodie, Tina & Lucy. They wouldn't have to do anything. Just stand there together. Please?

I was just thinking the other day how the L Word has had some fantastic guest stars...and wasted almost every one of them.

I hope they do themselves and the Lovely Lucy justice.

  12. Love your letter to Chaiken, Ms. S!
At first I wasn't sure could extend forgiveness yet, but you've inspired me. Plus, Yom Kippur is just around the corner, so might as well start now.

  13. I have little faith in Ms. Chaiken and I'm sure she'll end up disappointing. She'll do something literal like put Lucy in a closet.

  14. Wow. 0_0 Just wow. Am I dreaming? Before I faint too, I'd just like to say that what could be even better than this is if Renée O'Connor decides to join in on the fun too... But I'm afraid thousands of lesbians might spontaneously combust. Me included. *faints now*

  15. I with the Gentleman on her suggestion (as well as Vanessa's) that somehow they need to get Renee on The L Word too. I mean, after all, since Army Wives changed their collective minds, it's only right that Renee get a better offer!

Given the godawful shite that Ilene Chaiken has foisted upon the world via "The L Word," I'm skeptical that she will employ the beautiful and talented Ms. Lawless to good effect. I will be watching, however, and I hope that Ms. Lawless is in brunette mode ;-)

Those chiseled high cheek bones, that long black hair, those sensual full lips and that piercing, icy blue stare...the one that makes you either:

A: beg "please make love to me Warrior Princess!!!"

    or

B: beg "please for the sake of the gods don't kill me Xena. PLEASE DON'T KILL ME don'tkillmedon'tkillmedon'tkillmedon'tkillmedon'tkillme"

Princess X? Xena is not a princess. :)

    Julie
It's the blue eyes, the long raven hair, the long legs, her voluptuous figure, her cute smile, her evil glint in her eyes, her bronze leather, her chakram, her sword skills, her hand to hand combat, her pressure points, her chest and the little pink beauty mark on the left breast...yeah, I could go on and on and on! :P (Although to be honest, I was never was a fan of that particular Xena pic. The opening titles with the wind blowing in Lucy's face is amaaaaaaaazing).

    Hey, Ms. Snarker:

After reading your plea to Ms. Chaiken, I am wondering if you have been watching TLW and Bette for the last couple of years in a different dimension? Alpha Bette? If she even ever was that. She's been a p***y weakling crybaby. Pairing her with Zena, the Warrior? LMFAO. Zena would kick her a** after she laughed herself silly. Zena goes for blonds anyhoo, not brunettes and especially not with brunettes who have lost their vertebrae. heehee. I pray to the lesbian Gods and Godesses they pair her up with Laurel Holloman. Now, that's HOT! That should drive crybaby Bette to cry some more and throw things as well. HAHAHA.

Zena and Tina or Zina forever! *faints from the hotness this would bring to our screens*

  21. Hopefully, this guestbian isn't a wasted one.

However, nothing (not even Lucy in a breast plate) can make me forgive for the Dana incident. So, so, so wrong. I think they call that cruel and unusual punishment.

Ahhh you know, they should get Eliza Dushku!

  22. OMG you don't get Xena. Watch from season 3 on of Xena and you'll soon find out what any lesbian would see in those beautiful blue eye...those long legs...smokin' bod not to mention she has lovely hair.
The better question is... what isn't their to LOVE/LUST about Lucy Lawless.
