Well, here’s some bullshit. No more Wonder Women movies. Yes, we still have to endure that Flash movie from that actor who can’t stop getting arrested and harassing, um, everyone. But the world’s greatest female superhero, Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins? They get unceremoniously dumped because, well, it’s hard to say what the fuck DC/Warner/HBO is doing right now. Look, I loved the first movie and I was greatly disappointed by the second movie. But in my lifetime I’ve also sat through no less than 11 Batman movies. Eight Spider-Man movies. Six Superman movies. And about a bazillion X-Men movies. Yet we get only two shots at Wonder Woman? It’s a wonder why women don’t get as many chances. Real mystery. Plus still owe us that Amazons on Themyscira origin story, let alone more Wonder Women. More super women stories in 2023 and beyond, not less please universe.
Those in charge think that men are better than women (mind, women get things done) .:)
ReplyDeleteWell maybe Gal can spend her time trying to end the genocide in Gaza. Seems a bit more important than comic books movies.
ReplyDeleteSo there are more iterations of Spider Man than Wonder Woman movies? That’s total bullshit
ReplyDeleteThe first one was so good. Ugh, gonna go watch that No Man’s Land sequence again
It will take a lot more than the occasional meagre breadcrumbs asked for by the Bechdel test to compensate us
ReplyDeletefor the century of misogynistic patriarchal monopoly of the film and media industries that has been propagandising us
with their bigoted crap over the course of the entire last century.
It's a huge insult.
Shame on DC/ Warner / HBO and their ilk. We deserve much, much better.
My kingdom for a DC Bombshells movie. Never gonna happen. But hey, there’s a Joker sequel on the way!
ReplyDeleteI give up.
Gunn actually debunked this rumor on Twitter. I don't know if they have a writer/director in mind for Wonder Woman 3 yet, but the movie hasn't actually been cancelled outright, just put on hold while they try to figure out what to do with the character. Gunn has said they'll reveal a bit of their 10 year plan "soon" but I imagine it's pretty malleable at this point.
