Whether you’re working 9-to-five at home or back in the office or at your essential workplace, there are so many universal truths about that working life – especially for women. So to further indulge the Dolly Parton vibe I’ve been feeling throughout all of this – and to honor the fact that the research she has funded is yielding some very promising results in the fight against COID-19 – here’s some more of my country favorite. Happy Monday, kittens.
This really takes me back - my first year working after university:) I just love and admire Dolly so much.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I got to see Dolly live a couple years ago. She is still amazing (not just at singing, but at playing an absolute slew of different white rhinestone-bedazzled instruments).
ReplyDeleteI wanted to answer your question from last Friday (and, btw, thanks for reminding me to finally see Vita & Virginia). A good LGBT film to watch right now is the French film B.P.M., about the Paris chapter of ACT UP in the late 80s/early 90s. I admit I came to the film because it was another chance to watch Adele Haenel play gay (which she does with aplomb), but it is also an excellent look at activism, organizing, and protest in the face of discrimination and death. Still quite relevant. Here's the trailer:
