You know what I’d like? I’d like to be jumped on by Megan Rapinoe. OK, wait, wait. Not like that. Well, also like that. But the kind of jumping I’m talking about is the celebratory jumping. Rapinoe is a self-described “mauler” when it comes to celebrating. And what that means is if you score a goal, you’re going to get jumped on. So in honor of what I hope will be many Rapinoe jumps today onto fellow teammates in the U.S. semifinals match against Canada, here is a breakdown of the art of being mauled by Megan Rapinoe.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite moment of their Olympic matches so far has definitely been Pinoe jumping onto Abby's back and Abby just kept going like 'oh, is that a breeze I feel?'. So awesome and hilarious!

ReplyDeletethat was a great game even if my team lost....I agree with anon...Sinclair will ALWAYS be my player...she turned in a superb performance with a hat trick...she is a real leader encouraging all....both teams played their hearts out!

There was not much mauling by the US until the end - cos you was scared! Also we basically own-goaled the first one and the third was the cheap penalty shot. Sinclair flew her plane a little and fist-pumped on hers but even the hat trick wasn't enough, oddly. Sad, as I think Hope Solo would have shaking during the PKs. xo Cgrrl
ReplyDeleteThe referee had a couple of unbelievable calls. That indirect kick is not something that's rarely called -- it's never called... And to be followed by that penalty kick call. Wow
