My Weekend Crush

Each time I see Sasha Alexander, she’s a little more gorgeous than the time before. Which, considering how gorgeous she is to start with, is pretty near impossible. But there she goes, each time anew, making me think – “No, this is the most gorgeous I have ever seen her. This.” She has a sophisticated sereneness about her that plays perfectly off of co-star Angie Harmon’s coltish kinetic energy. But outward gorgeousness, even the exponentially increasing kind like hers, is really nothing when not coupled with inner beauty. And by all account Sasha has that as well. And with each new interview, my respect for her increases as well.

Being one of the leads on a hit new TV show about a crime-fighting pair that even your grandmother has started to wonder aloud if they’re LLBFFs with benefits must be somewhat overwhelming. The flood of fervent fangirls. The flood of are they or aren’t they questions. But rather than pish-posh fans or squash speculation, Sasha has been universally magnanimous about the gay talk. She told TV Guide that the subtext discussion was “a great compliment. Angie is a beautiful woman, and I can't say we don't make a hot pair.” And she told Jimmy Kimmel that “Everybody’s a little bit more gay these days…. Best friends can be very gay.” Her embrace of the fans and our love for these characters and their chemistry is refreshing. She doesn’t just tolerate us, she truly appreciates us.

And speaking of that Kimmel interview, can we just talk for a second about that dress? Sweet merciful Zeus, that dress. I’m pretty sure the laws of physics dictate that she had to be poured into it that dress. And her hair – her shiny, perfect, luminous hair. And that laugh, that throaty delicious laugh. That’s it – this is definitely the most gorgeous I have ever seen her. That is, until the next time I see her. Happy weekend, all.

Oh, Sasha Alexander! I first saw her in the gay (male) romcom All Over the Guy, with Dan Bucatinsky, Richard Ruccolo and Adam Goldberg - always gay friendly!

  6. I was in similar situation years ago. Loved this chick, she made all the "touchy-feely moves" but in the end, she claimed to be straight. Perhaps, I shoulda had a drinking game!

    Yeah, good times.

    Love GAYZZOLI!

  7. I fell in love with her from that first episode of NCIS...*sigh*...when they killed Kate (needless to say i stopped watching the show after that), I remember crying my eyes out cuz Sasha Alexander would no longer be on my tv screen every week.

She had a brief stint in Mission Impossible...five seconds at best, lol. I was beginning to think that i would never see her again and then...along came Rizzoli & Isles in all their sapphic subtextual bliss...this is a benevolent universe that we live in lol.

  8. Sasha is just ravishing. I love her warmth & unwavering support of all her fans.

Rizzoli & Isles is exceedingly lucky to have Sasha on the show because she is not only an exceptionally accomplished actress, she brings out the best in her
co-stars. There is nothing like a sweet, hot and wickedly funny woman to warm the cockles of my heart!

Did you read her interview about education? I thought I couldn't love her any more than I already did, but then, well, you know, I loved her more.

Just when I think I can't possibly admire, respect or adore her more and then there's another interview. Besides being a wonderful actress and drop-dead gorgeous, she is the personification of acceptance, poise, and grace. Love her more everyday.

  18. ITA with everything you said!!!!!! At first, the delicious subtext and Angie really drew me to R&I. But Sasha. Oh Sasha... has just been an amazing surprise. And, she just gets more and more beautiful to me after all her interviews and unflappable grace. I am proud to stand firm with the other Sashistas and bask in her gloriousness. Ahhhh. ;)

You've been reading my mind again and expressing it so MUCH better than I ever could. Tweeted Janet Tamaro about a week ago re Sasha's ability to answer the "gay" question and complimented Sasha as well. And as you know as she tweeted you her thanks, she continues to be gracious and respond to her fans. And that dress. When questioned prior to her appearance, she said it was hot, but that comment didn't do it or her justice. Your blog did. Thanks for making her your weekend crush!

  22. First saw Sasha Alexander on NCIS a month (!!) ago. Then found Rizzoli&Isles - watched the whole 1st season in one night! Oh my gay, that was SOMETHING!

And I STRONGLY AGREE with you: she gets better and better and better and better and better and better and better and better and better and better and better and betterand better and better and better and BETTAH!

And her laugh - I ADORE it!

    And her smile - DAZZLED!

    And her eyes - *faints*.

And that AWESOME dress - drooling.

Sasha, THANK YOU, for your existance on this planet, in this Universe!!!

    MUCH LOVE,
    Aliona (Ukraine)

  23. You and almost every other lez on the planet!
I think we can safely call either Sasha or Angie 'Everyone's Weekend Crush' this weekend :)
Thanks for putting it into words, and making me happy to know I'm not the only one whose brain has gone into meltdown this week.

  24. It took me forever to watch this show because I can't stand Angie Harmon. I finally watched it and will keep watching it for Sasha Alexander.

  25. I'm so glad I watched all the way to the end: the Sofia Loren story was fabulous! "A part of me said, 'good for her'". Classic.

It's just really sad that according to Janet Tamero, it's all just a joke. When asked by @Zarathustrian if she minded how obsessed some lesbian fans could be, she replied that no she didn't because after all, don't you (Zara) like it when people laugh at your jokes?

    Yes, Janet. Sexuality is hil-arious.
