You canceled “The Chicago Code.” That means you’ve cancelled Jennifer Beals. That means she will no longer be on our TVs. That means the universe will miss this.
LOOK AT YOUR LIFE, LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES, FOX!
How could you do this to Jennifer? How could you do this to us?
She wore ties.
She wore tank tops.
She showed us her cop arms.
She showed us her shiny, shiny hair.
What more could this woman possibly do for you? What more could she do for us? Sigh.
I believe to deprive the world of Jennifer Beals is a mortal sin. A sin, Fox, a sin.
Sincerely miffed,
Ms. Snarker
p.s. Still not convinced you have made a terrible life choice, Fox? Click that collage to enlarge all the Beals you will make us miss.
It sucks. Can't believe they cancelled the show. I was really looking forward to season 2, especially when the writers said that the viewers would get to know more about Teresa's personal life.
ReplyDeleteBloody hell, this on top of finding my first grey hair yesterday. I'm now going to sulk
ReplyDeleteI must say, those are some real good arguments!:)
ReplyDeleteAnother one bites the dust, eh? Thank you for this post. It made the blow from the news a little less painful. haha.
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooo WHYYYYYYYYYY?! It is actually really good!
ReplyDeleteRats! The Show improved w/ each episode, as did JB's grasp of her role. 'Wonder if there's any chance that Fox might be bring it back as a mid-season replacement next Winter? Or, better yet, whether it could be shopped to one of the cable networks?
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm surprised. I had no intention of watching this, but you convinced me in your post about it before the pilot aired, and I have to say, I've loved this show. It was really good. Can't believe they're canceling it.
ReplyDeleteDear Dorothy:
ReplyDeleteWe here at Fox like to maintain a certain kind of quality and intellectualism on our network for our preferred viewers. Shows like Firefly, Dollhouse, Titus,, Dark Angle, Drive and Arrested Development, proved to be too intellectuality stimulating for the same people who tune in to watch Glen Beck rant about gold. This is why Seth MacFarlane has the same show running 3 times on one night. Not to mention our obvious severe distaste for any viewers of a homosexual nature. Go find God because you're making him cry.
FOX
(This is a troll letter reflecting how I think FOX runs it's network. Don't take it too seriously.)
OMG You're KIDDING ME!!! Finally a great cop show to replace Law & Order(whose writing has gone downhill for a long time, sorry Mariska...)and they cancel it???? WHY?WHY?WHY? And the extra bonus of seeing JB every week.Man, you just bummed me out Dorothy.Well, not you Dorothy...you always know how to bring a smile to my face:)
ReplyDeleteI already miss the show. I love it! Good cop bad cop hot cop, it has something for everyone!
ReplyDeleteFox proved how ridiculous it is. Or maybe it's America's fault for too many reality shows.
I CAN believe they cancelled The Code, I mean I never watched it anyway so no loss no foul.
ReplyDeleteNOOOO!! I finally watched all the episodes on my DVR last Saturday!! I really like it!! BRING IT BACK!!!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer is so dreamy...it just makes me miss even the crappy seasons of the L Word.
The show was not a good show. And definitely not worthy of Jennifer Beals. Fox is good at picking great talent and putting them in crappy shows. I watched every episode and it was a chore! The only thing I will miss is Jennifer herself...
ReplyDeleteWow that was in record time. :(
ReplyDeleteNot happy, Me & Jess love this show. After reading the FOX article yesterday it looks like they canceled half the network. A few more were shows we watched to.
ReplyDeleteKara :(
What? No, no, no! I hope "Chicago Code" is picked up by a network that has some sense of quality programming. (Are you listening, AMC?)
ReplyDeleteDamn. Loved my JB fix every week. It was good!!!! Damn.
ReplyDeleteReally FOX blows big monkey nuts at this point!! C and I love that show!! :(
ReplyDeleteSorry I couldn't really stand the show - It was, eh, okay, but we didn't watch it every week. My GF said that "Its a take it or leave it show" and she's right
ReplyDeleteLOOK AT YOUR LIFE, LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES, FOX!
ReplyDeleteoh snarker, you are brilliant!
just speechless!
ReplyDeleteit starts showing in the UK tomorrow - i've seen some & its good. compared to most drivel this should not be being cancelled. So sorry for all involved - this is good TV
on the upside Scaf is writing good LWord/Chicago Code crossover fanfic on LWord.com - that'll tide me over.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!! I am so upset about the cancellation, that show was actually good and had potential!! I still can't believe that they would cancel it... :'(
ReplyDeleteThe Chicago Code is a great show,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your post Dorothy,
And Jennifer Beals is amaazing as always, stunning really ....what a woman, beauty and brain...
This woman is a jewel...
Love you Ms Beals ,for ever..
I must say, those are some real good arguments!:) (2) very well said Dorothy! ♥ I hate mondays again.
ReplyDeleteFox cancels all the good shows. You cancelled JOSS WHEDON for godsake. Screw you, Fox, I'm quitting you. American Idol and all. Well, not Glee. But everything else. You bastards.
ReplyDeleteThe show was okay. But JB's narration at the beginning was just goddamn annoying! What the hell kind of forced accent was that? Didn't sound like any Chicagoan I know. And, it got worse each episode.
ReplyDeleteI liked it!! It got better each week, now the damm thing is in stride and they cancel it??? WTF??
ReplyDeleteI sured did love cop arms! I will miss this show.
ReplyDeleteReally!?! I thought it was a good show. Way better than that horrible show that required Kate M. to wear a femme wig...
ReplyDeleteI gotta say...it wasn't a very good show. Great eye candy in Ms. Beals but bad writing all the way around.
ReplyDeleteI love JB and think she can be an excellent actor, but that show was not good.
ReplyDelete*small voice* And she wasn't that great in it either. *don't hit me*
I think the show was getting better, actually. Crap.
ReplyDeleteI miss Jennifer already, again.
