Lezzing it up with Betty White

Oh, Betty White. Marry me. Or, if you think the age difference is too much for us to overcome, just come over to my house and tell me lesbian jokes every day. “Saturday Night Live” was something it hasn’t been in ages – funny from start to finish. Hostess with the mostest Betty White was everything you could have wanted – hilarious, charming, warm, potty mouthed. All that and playing backup was the Dream Team of Female Comics of former cast greats Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon and Rachel Dratch. Hell, even the patently unfunny MacGruber skits were funny thanks to Betty. Oh, Betty. You were the best reason possible to stay home and lez this weekend.

“My muffin hasn’t had a cherry since 1939.”

“You’re barking up the wrong lesbian.”

“That’s definitely a homeless guy in a fur coat.”

“Thank you for being a friend.”

I could not love that woman and her dusty muffin more.

  1. This gathering of fine females really really made my weekend!

Also, it should be said, Tina Fey makes a REALLY cute ponytailed census taker!

Dear God, Betty was magnificent! And I quite enjoyed the return of so many fantastic women from SNL. It was a pity we couldn't get to see more of each of them, but they made Betty work hard. She carried the show and she seemed to truly take delight in the adoration offered to her. I hope she knows the audience at home felt the same. It's just too goddamned bad that the boys the are called writers at SNL are so fucking limited. I think we all knew before the program started that Betty is 88 1/2 years old, it didn't need to be stated in every fucking sketch. But then, Lorne Michaels has had that show on the air for 35 years, most of them with equally juvenile writers, so he probably doesn't feel the need to change the formula now and I suspect that it's a style that suits him personally. But I digress. Viva La Betty! May we have her for many, many more years, however unlikely that might be. I'm just glad everyone got to appreciate her before she got to witness it.

    haha,
    the grandma is so funny,
I should watch the show I guess.

    what I realize,
    you like tina.

I mean I was confused sometimes like
    symbolism and so on,

but actually nothing related that way.

    you're just you,

    sorry for bothering sometimes,
    although this is your place.

    thanks for the exciting posting,
it just makes me laugh a lot,
    have a nice day!

  5. Can they all please return to the show and make it good again? Or, if that's impossible, can Betty White just be the host every weekend? 'Cause I think that would really help dig SNL out of the unfunny hole it's steadily been descending into over the last handful of years.

I so agree with everyone. For the person who thinks maybe they should watch the show-- uh no! This was one of those rare occasions that this show was actually funny. I wish those girls would come back!!

Sorry but I thought the writing was mostly lame except the muffin skit. I wish that Tina would have her on 30 Rock cause with Tina writing it mightbe funny. Betty deserved better.

  10. SNL is, unfortunately, no longer funny or clever. It was fabulous to see Betty White, Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, etc., etc., but this show has become sadly lackluster. Luckily, I am sure that somehow I will manage to survive.

  11. SNL hasn't been funny in a long time, but it was a pleasure to see Betty White and some of the other ladies.

    Tina Fey is adorable!
