“Fringe” grew on me its first season, burrowing deeper and deeper into my brain with its intricate mysteries and bold brandishing of the conspiracy theory crown once held by “The X-Files.” Also, it helped that Anna made out with a stripper. (Yes, I’m ignoring the whole it-was-in-her-head, oh-and-she-killed-her-afterward stuff.) Have I mentioned she looks good in a suit?
This then begs the question: Which female agent is your favorite?
Granted, Agent Walker is at a disadvantage with her non-pantsuit attire. Or possibly it’s an advantage, depending on your feelings about dirndls. As for my favorite, while I love ALL my very special agents, the truth is out there.
I think Olivia is my current fave Agent. I have to admit, I like AJ Cook on Criminal Minds, but she doesn't wear a suit. But her off camera wardrobe is fab ( http://www.tylershields.com/images/aj-cook/aj-cook.jpg )
ReplyDeleteBut, the all time fave agent of mine, SD-6, APO, CIA is Jennifer Garner

The lips, the eyes, the wigs, the outfits (or sometimes the lack there of) and less not forget the acting ability. Ahhh, now I think I'm in the mood for some DVD rewatch of Alias....
theJadedRogue
thank you, thank you, thank you, ms. snarker!
ReplyDeleteat the moment I'm totally obsessed with anna torv, she is so hot and adorkable (also loved her in mistresses!) - so agent olivia dunham is my favorite.
;)) babs
Hmm, tricky..
ReplyDeleteAnna Torv and her Cate-Blanchett-esque half-bemused, half disfainful pout (and oh the raspy voice)
versus
Her Hotness Gillian, because well DUH redhead + pout + even-raspier voice
Tricky indeed. But ok, I'll have to agree with you, Miss Snarker, just this once.
All hail the mighty Scully !!
Scully! And now I want to watch The X-Files ep; Jose Chung is From Outer Space.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you: I love them all but there can only be one like Special Agent Dana Scully. There is only one thing that could have made me love her character/storyline more and that's if they would have followed through on the original Scully/Reyes vibes (it might be all the wishful thinking but damn it, they were there!). By the way, Monica Reyes/Annabeth Gish is another good candidate for your Agents list, even all by herself with her unfortunate eventual love interest in agent Doggett!
ReplyDeleteOh, I second Jaded! Agent Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner from Alias) is my favorite. Then you add Lena Olin - and DAMN!
ReplyDeleteThe truth is still out there, after all these years...
ReplyDeleteDana Scully's curves, the fact that she only had three suits and not an Hollywood wardrobe... I loved her. No, wait, I still love her.
ReplyDeleteBut let's not forget Jorja Fox as Agent Gina Toscano in The West Wing.
Ugh totally Scully all the way!
ReplyDeleteOh Scully, definitely! I've been in love with her since I was 10.
ReplyDeleteOf this lot it's a close tie between Anna Torv and Yvonne Strahovski. Perhaps they can battle it out in my head for a while... ;)
ReplyDeleteAgent Sarah Walker, hands down. Of course, that's from a purely aesthetic point of view, as I have no real knowledge of the agents whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteWell duh. It has to be Dana Scully! And you KNOW I'm there next month, first in line for The X-Files a XXX Parody! I'm a shipper, always have been, regardless of my desire for Scully to come out of the closet! That said, I am still catching up on Fringe through hulu because it is just too manipulative to watch all at once - and where is Mary Shannon in all this?
ReplyDeleteAh, a post after my own heart. Scully was my first love. I still have the cover of FHM from mid 90's that I had laminated on my bedroom wall (along with a million other Scully/ X-Files pics. She will always hold a special place in my mind but I must admit both Sydney Bristow & Sarah Walker are welcome to join her at anytime!!
ReplyDeleteyou forgot agent Pepa Miranda from "los hombre de Paco", my fav
ReplyDeleteAgain Laura Sánchez (Pepa) and Marian Aguilera (Silvia) are missing on the list...
ReplyDeleteScully...all the way!! I can't even use the word "agent" without thinking about her.
ReplyDeleteSydney Bristow. Hands down.
ReplyDeleteAgent Sydney Bristow! I've been re-watching Alias for the last few weeks, so she is stuck in my head haha.
ReplyDeleteMmm, something about the way Olivia Dunham wears those suits is just magical.
Current favorite is definitely Agent Olivia Dunham, cause Anna Torv rocks. But all time, no ones beat Agent Dana Scully yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be Scully all the way baby...
ReplyDeleteArgh. Blogger hates me tonight. But I don't think my comment wasn't much more coherent than Scully Scully Scully!!! No-one will ever come close to the awesomeness that is Special Agent Dana Scully!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I also love Agent Reyes, and Agent Starling, and Agent Samantha Spade is lovely, and can I throw in one from literature as well, Secret Service Agent Cameron Roberts from Radclyffe's Honor series.
Scully is the coolest by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rules /Chompen
ReplyDeletehot tip... read som reyes/scully fanfic.../Chompen
ReplyDeleteWhat, no Detective Lilly Rush on that list? ;)
ReplyDelete(Okay, so she has a Det. in front of her name ...)
Special Agent Emily Prentiss (and she wears suits very well)
ReplyDeleteSarah Walker, hands down...have you seen her fight or shoot a gun? Heck, even just run. It's a thing of beauty...
ReplyDeleteOh my, it has to be Scully. Undoubtably.
ReplyDeleteIts the red hair what does it.
On the very first date I went on (i was 15) I went to go see Silence of the Lambs.
ReplyDeleteI've had a crush on Clarice Starling for 17 years now. I don't remember that boys name.
I like to believe that somewhere in there, she and Dana Scully totally hooked up. Is that so wrong? Really?
There is no one like the one and only Special Agent Dana Scully.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, Nora's got something going there. Are there any Starling/Scully fics out there? On second thought, how about a fic with all these agents? Now that's a story :)
Mossad Liaison Officer/ NCIS Field Agent Ziva David. kthxbai.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.mysites.nl/upload2/ncis/379073.jpg
Just having my Jodie moment. hmmm. ;)
ReplyDeleteScully. The sexiest skeptical special agent ever!
ReplyDeleteOh, Scully. Dorothy, you've inspired me to partake in an X-Files marathon.
ReplyDeleteOne of my new favorites, though, is Myka Bering from Warehouse 13 on SyFy. At first I thought it would just be too much like an X-Files remake, (male and female government agent pair traveling around investigating freaky-deaky phenomena sounded familiar) but it's turning out to be such an interesting, quirky, well written show. And Jane Espenson heads it! It also doesn't hurt that the new character Claudia Donovan definitely pings my gaydar...
Pepa Miranda (Los Hombres de Paco), seriously so hot with her vest and gun holster :)
ReplyDeleteI love Gillian Anderson. She has the sexiest mouth. Ever. I am pretty sure she was my first crush. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteMmmm, agents! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's not why I'm writing though...
I'm sure you've already seen it, but gosh, Ellen Page's new flick "Whip it" ....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQGPdXnb2Gg
She's geeky, she's hot...she's Ellen Page.
She kind of looks like Linda Cardellinis character from Freaks & Geeks, right?
And don't we love our freaks and geeks?
I would be more than happy if you made a "nerd day" or "geek day" on your blog ;)
No agent will ever beat Scully. I was so in love with her that my video tapes wore down on the parts with her in them. Thank God for DVDs ;).
ReplyDeleteScully, without a doubt. Her and Kim Delaney (Det. Diane Russell NYPD Blue) were my first obsessions. I think it's because those characters are strong women. I seem to gravitate toward those women...and Delaney on Blue looked a lot like a newly hired HS math teacher that I had a major crush on.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with the vote for Samantha Spade.
Just read that Duchovny was a classmate of J. Beals and lobbied for her to get the Scully role. I looooove JB but Gillian Anderson is just perfect and gorgeous.
you missed my fave...
ReplyDeletesydney bristow!
Olivia Dunham, I love her (I even named my guitar after her).
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Scully, but Scully lovers have to give props to Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling. When Chris Carter created that part, he based it off of Clarice. When they were casting it, they were looking for someone like Agent Starling. So no Starling, no Scully....
ReplyDeleteBut currently I'm completely in love with Agent Walker. How can you not be? She is so beautiful. So, so, so very beautiful...
Scully, all the way, all the time, hands down. And I agree with the write-in of Sydney Bristow. The others are definitely lovely, but c'mon - DANA-FREAKIN-SCULLY; she stole my heart long ago (in a make-believe sense, of course. All gay-married and everything, my wife has my ACTUAL heart).
ReplyDeleteSarah Walker in a heartbeat. Aside from being dedicated, kind, and sensitive, she could kick my ass any day.
ReplyDeleteAgent Scully is perfect and I´ve been in love with her for over fifteen years. The others can only dream of being as cool, scientific, sceptical and beautiful as Dana Scully.
ReplyDeleteShe's not on the list, but I vote for Ziva David on NCIS. She's great with knives and guns, and is sort of omnisexual too. She flirts with men and women, and has copped to sleeping with women on more than one occasion.
ReplyDeleteFrom your list I choose Clarice, of course
No mention of NCIS Agent Ziva David in your blog. She will always have a piece of my... heart.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.motifake.com/image/demotivational-poster/0810/ziva-david-cubby-demotivational-poster-1222984495.jpg
Oh, Clarice. I love you. (And Scully too!)
ReplyDeleteYou forgot FBI agent Renee Walker from 24.
