I’ve finally found something sadder than a sad clown. It’s a sad, crazy clown. Oh Lauryn, I know The Fugees reunion is stalled, but did you really have to try out for the Insane Clown Posse?
Please please please, tell me this is a joke. I mea the pic looks strange enough for the face to be one of these freaky transparent masks, you know ? I used to have such a HUGE crush on Ms. Hill... *sigh*
If you had seen "Rize" by David Lachapelle you would understand where clowning comes from. It is a group of dancers who dance "krumping" and "clowning". I believe that is where the insane clown posse got the name.
Can't be, Insane Clown Posse started in 1987, nothing to do with "Rize" who was filmed and released in 2004 and 2005 respectively. And although Lauryn Hill does look ridiculous on this picture, this has nothing to do with clowning. Instead, I suspect that being married to Bob Marley's son, she got to visit Lee "Scratch" Perry's wardrobe and borrowed an item or two...
Maybe she got that clown virus that ravaged poor Carl on Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
And for what it's worth, plush, Insane Clown Posse actually didn't get its name from krumping or clowning. ICP is a truly godawful rap-rock band from Detroit that's been around for a good 15 years or so, long before krumping or clowning started up in LA.
Amanda, clowning and krumping are styles of dancing that originated in LA. How much it's done outside of LA, I have no idea. I only know a little bit about it because I saw the documentary that plush mentioned, "Rize." It's really interesting, and the dancing is pretty incredible.
