Lip locked

You know who I don’t write about enough? Callie and Arizona. Part of this is because – and I’ve admitted this before – I simply do not watch “Grey’s Anatomy.” But, I do catch up occasionally on all that is cooking in Calzona country. Like, for instance, I know that in the season finale Arizona was [spoilers, duh] injured in the plane crash and nowhere near out of the metaphorical or literal woods. But here’s what I’ve always appreciated about this coupling. They’re adults. Sure, they make mistakes and make bad choices and make babies with best friends. But they’re definitely adults. And they’re also two gay women in a committed relationship who show affection and profess their love out loud. And on TV, sadly, that’s still rare. So this being the beginning of Pride Week in corner of the country, who better to kick it off than a super sexy gay lady couple from our television. Oh, and they kiss, heavens do they kiss. So as a mea culpa for not enjoying the deliciousness of Calzona enough, please enjoy 8 minutes and 46 seconds of them kissing. Suck on that, Ryan Murphy.

Love Calzona and loved the video, but I'll admit that I'm nervous about the season 9 premiere.

I didn't start watching Grey's for Calzona (I watched it before Callie came on board), but it's definitely why I keep watching.

What a great video! I've never watched "Grey's Anatomy". If the show was named "Callie and Arizona" and had preview clips like these I would have already been addicted. I don't care about the medical drama or whatever but I love watching Callie and Arizona kissing and falling in love!

Love Grey's and Calzona are just a beautiful couple. I was very nervous by the season finale, but actually don't think they will kill Arizona off in the season premier as something needs to keep Karev in Seattle and I don't think a new PED's attending would, but a hurt Arizona would.

Great video. Hey have had some really sweet moments together. Of course now with the time change Glee is up against hem on a Thursday night. I think I will stick with my Grey's and then the wonderful Scandal.

Oh my gosh great vid. I admit I don't watch this show religiously either. Yet I love both women almost equally. Ramirez is great at singing and stuff and beaaauuutiful and Kate Capshaw is all dimply and always on. Sorry, but I just can't forget the time Kate's character was with Tibette's character in the L. One of my favorite lesbian dynamics - the Alpha with the adoring puppy.

P.S. Has anyone ever seen Sasha Alexander and Kate Capshaw in the same room together? Each of those girls have the same kind of dimples among other things.

Suggestion Box Idea: Hey Dot, why doncha do a dimpled Wednesday sometime? ;)

Yes, Shonda can sometimes wield her power like a certain lesbian cable showrunner, ::cough-Eileen Chaiken-cough:: BUT, nobody, NOBODY, has given us the exposure, equality, and diversity that she has.

Sara and Jessica clearly committed to these roles with all they had, and they so make it worth our Thursday nights.

I love Sara and Jessica, but I owe Shonda.

Awesomeness! The only thing that could make it better would be to find some way to cut out Meredith's annoying voiceover.

Love them!
I love the characters, I love the story arc (even with the drama, or despite it, I suppose), I love the show. Even more, I Love both women as actresses and performers. So fantastic, each in her own way. And, Sara Ramirez is a gift from the creative force of the universe...that voice, that face, that body, that talent, that heart....truly amazing and inspiring. Thanks for posting this entry on these two, and the sister-of-the-heart Shonda Rhimes, for bringing these stories and this talent to our screens every week. Yay Grey's! :)

Glee will air the same time as grey's next season. I think when it comes to make a choice, i'm going with the show where the lesbians aren't treated like crap ( or at least not any worse than the hetero couples) and where i don't have to beg and uproar just to get a lesbian kiss.

I love that Calzona represents a loving and stable couple. Hope it remains that way.

Seriously underrated couple and seriously underrated actresses. I'm hoping with the loss of two people on the cast of Grey's, Arizona and Callie will get some more screen time in season 9 and JCap and Sara will be able to shine like they always do when they are on screen, separate and especially together.

That last kiss was just too adorable, cute, sexy and just all around amazing. Can't wait for more scenes like that.

I hadn't watched Grey's in a while because I was so busy with school but got suckered into the finale because I knew someone was going to die. It reignited my interest in the show. I know it's corny but I've been watching since ep one.
Then Lifetime has been showing episodes in the afternoon and I am just so in love with their relationship. I think Shonda really believes in their relationship and what it means to a lot of people.
They are very adult. Arizona has given some of the best speeches and makes the most appropriate and mature comments.
And it doesn't hurt that the two of them are fantastic actress and very easy on the eyes ;)

Kate Capshaw is Jessica Capshaw's mother and has never (to my knowledge) appeared on either Grey's or The L Word :)

Even though I rant and rage over that disgusting baby storyline and the perpetual inclusion of a third wheel in their relationship because it's so unequal compared to the other characters on the show, I will forever love Callie and Arizona's relationship and love Sara and Jessica for committing themselves to Calzona.
