Gender Fuck Thursday

Dude, I have been all serious issues are serious with my posts this week. I blame the switch to Daylight Savings Time. Dark skies, dark thoughts. So, I think it’s time again for a little unapologetic (yet respectful and, um, empowering) objectification. And you know my absolute favorite thing to objectify after Tina Fey and women in tank tops? Yep, ladies in suits. Those sharp tailored lines against those gentle swooping curves is just too delicious to ignore for too long. In fact, I feel terribly remiss for not having posted a GFT since, gasp, September. And here we are entering into the winter months and everything. So grab a nice warm jacket, preferably with a lady still inside it, and let’s wrap ourselves in some happy. P.S. If she has a kick-ass wristcuff like Isabelle Huppert above, all the better.

Evan Rachel WoodNormally I would always recommend wearing pants with your jacket, but not today.

Aubrey Plaza“Parks & Recreation” finally returns to NBC at 9:30pm Jan. 20, followed by “30 Rock” at 10pm. Amy & Tina are together again, plus more April, more Ron and more Pawnee! Whee!

Winona RyderIf you had a crush on Winona in the 90s and you know it, clap your hands.

Janelle MonaeIf I looked this good in a tux, I’d wear one every day, too.

Jennifer Jason LeighHey, Leighton and Minka, you’ve got nothing on this Single White Female (even though I don’t think she is actually single, but that ruins the joke).

Tilda SwintonObligatory.

Katharine HepburnEven more obligatory.

Wool suit season, welcome back.

I love you for labeling Kate 'Even More Obligatory.' After all, where would ANY of the gender fuckers be without her? (I know, I know, there's Marlene D., but still... I guess I mean *American* gender fuckers)

Kate!!!!!!!!

Can I whine a bit about the extreme youth of most of the other entries?

And once more with feeling -

Kate!!!!!!!!

I watched the movie, Morocco, last weekend, wherein Ms. D. leans over and kisses another woman during one of her cabaret numbers. Dressed in a tux. Wearing a top hat. Perhaps you forgot the wonderfulness of this gender fuck in compiling your current list...? I know, you can't include everyone in every Thursday...

After seeing that breathtaking photo of Evan Rachel Wood my first thought was maybe the no pants full brief black nylon panty with formal suit jacket style should become the new norm for all genders in the workplace or out about town, but after more reflection think the guys would look much better in ultra-feminine blouses (and panties) and it would be more in accordance with Gender Fuck Thursday. Love that first photo too. She has the look of a really awesome boss :-)

Oh DS . . . you know how to make my morning. There's almost nothing I love more than Gender Fuck Thursday. Definitely a warm spot on this cold, snowy morning.

Finally! Have missed GFT. LOVE Tilda Swinton. Had not seen the one of Isabelle Huppert before. Nice.

And in the spirit of hot wrist cuffs, check out http://www.retrocuffs.com/

i know this is a weird question, but where is the photographer in the Katherine Hepburn photo? with a shot from that perspective, I'd expect to see the photographer in the mirror/reflection, no?

btw, love KH's suit-style :)

alison, there is a guy in the reflection over her right shoulder and that looks like maybe the base of a tripod in front of him.

I like wool,
you can wear it in summer, too.
in a place that have too good air conditioner,
helps you experience this is exactly
how north pole feels like.

I think they really good at that, I mean
if your mission is to make really good air conditioner,
that's what count as success. although, environmental
geeks will dislike their products, but I'm not geek,
like to enjoy livable degree during summer.
