Fringe on top

So, I've decided to start watching “Fringe” again. Yes, I know, there are only three more episode left. Yes, I know, I've got about half a dozen to catch up on. Yes, I know, the show isn't guaranteed renewal for a second season. Basically, I really dig Anna Torv. Oh, and the weird science. But mostly Anna Torv. Yes, I've Weekend Crushed her before. Yes, my reasons were multi-fold. Yes, she looks like Cate Blanchett's little sister. Basically, I really dig when Anna Torv kisses other chicks.

Case in point, last night's episode. [Oh, right, spoilers if you haven't watched yet. p.s. Edited to add clip at the end.]

Hello, hottie stripper hook-up. OK, sure, so her rendezvous with the Mila Kunis look-alike really only showed us one kiss. OK, sure, it ended with a very unfortunate case of Lesbian After-Sex Bed Death. OK, sure, it wasn't really her, but her dreaming herself into the emotions of her former child scientific guinea pig partner. It was still pretty freaking hot for about 1 minute. If you just stop when the girl breaks the glass, you can live a happy life thinking they ended up together with Anna walking around the house in a black tank top and her lady friend in hotpants. I'm also totally ignoring the fact that Anna married co-star Mark Valley (Agent John Scott) in real life. What? It's my fantasy and I can do what I want. I'm a blogging reverse empath, you know, in my mind.

Of course, the episode wasn't just about the kiss (or the lovely happy moment Olivia had in her head – “Oh.” “Oh.” “Oh.”) It had quite the twisty, turny reveal. Olivia was experimented on as a child by Walter? Holy, X-Files, someone tell Mulder. Wait, crap, wrong show. What I enjoy most about “Fringe” is, well, duh Anna and her tough yet thoughtful, calm yet open portrayal of Agent Dunham. (What is it with pretty blonde agents with a penchant for ponytails? Oh, hi, Agent Sarah Walker.) I really like Walter (John Noble) and all his eccentricisms, too. Pacey Joshua Jackson is still not my favorite. But, hey, the show also employs a real, live, totally out lesbian in assistant Astrid (Jasika Nicole).

Dream lesbians. Real lesbians. Mad scientists. Hot Australians. Seriously, why did I stop watching again?

EDIT: Good God, watch (rewatch, rewatch, rewatch) the clip! [Hat tip, Anna!]

the show is great, and anna torv is so natural, what a nice change to all those too stylish + overdressed women on tv.

I love fashion, but it is like a breath of fresh air, if you know what I mean...

Last night's episode rocked. Anna Torv is hot, and seeing her seduce the stripper was just a really nice surprise. She gets this 'intensity' about her when she's portraying sexual excitement or interest that's breathtaking. Soon as her eyes locked on the stripper, I was like, oh my, oh my.

i rushed home from dinner out just so i could be on my couch once fringe started. i was a little distracted by life until the stripper scene started.

after that, a herd of shelley conn's could not have torn me away. well, actually, now that i think about it.....mmm, shelley conn....

wait, where was i? oh right. yeah, fringe is AWESOME!

Fringe is the one show I will literally make sure my schedule allows me to watch ... and I never do that with television, which is surprising me I have to say, but I really do enjoy it.

I love that Torv's character doesn't wear heels or makeup at work, she wears practical shoes and just gets her hair out of her face, and still manages to look beautiful (of course, the woman could wear a burlap sack and she'd still look incredible).

But yes, that scene with the stripper ... I figured out pretty damn early that her 'doppleganger' (of a sorts) was involved ... but that extended shot of Dunham walking down the street, into the club, and then checking out the stripper before then walking up to her, even before the kiss, was literally one of the sexiest things I've seen on TV in quite a while. Dunham was literally predatory in her sexual drive towards the stripper.

And then the twist in the ending?! WOAH!

I love that they credited us the audience with the intelligence to figure out that it was Walter's voice in what he was watching, and not have to show him or anything. They do that crediting a lot in this show, and I really appreciate it.

Fringe is very very cool (which I suspect will mean it will be cancelled, as the intelligent, different, and complex shows that I tend to like always end up being cancelled).

"why did I stop watching again?"

'cause it's boring? and cheesy?

I did say that kiss was hot!

I can't say I was as surprised by the very ending revelation as some were. Maybe I'm just used to the X-files were EVERYTHING is connected eventually. I do feel badly for Walter though.

You must get caught up. There have been some great things. Don't miss the parasite larvae, for instance.

We watch Fringe without fail every week, picking out the best Walter lines and then tormenting each other with them (I've always wanted a two-headed goat).
Last night's episode really expanded on the kiddie drug trials and Walter's part in it. Everything about this show is just so dang freaky that I can't help but embrace it fully, even when I want to hold it at arm's length and cringe.
Glad that you've returned to the Fringe fold, DS!

My girlfriend and I have officially named this as our new favorite show. It is our "must see".

Anna Torv is breathtaking, I like her style and natural beauty, plus she's a great actress.
J.J. Abrams really knows how to cast strong female leads, e.g. Sydney Bristow.
I hope this show will get at least 5 seasons !!! (Dream big !)

Love the kiss, but that stripper is entirely too skinny (there's a clip on youtube).

I also stopped watching this show months ago, so instead of watching Anna Torv and the cute brunette stripper I was watching a bunch of dudes crab fish with my brother.

Good Call :(

LOVE her!!! I haven't seen Fringe yet, tho - and the whole kissing-stripper explanation confused the bejeesus out of me. LOL But actual lips were locked and is on film, so that's good...

Guess I'll Netflix the series when I can and see what all the fuss is about...

Anna is absolutely stunning. I think Cate Blanchett, Anna, and Blake Lively honestly look like they are related. Someone needs to put them in a movie together. They would be the honest family ever.

I do watch Fringe every week but I actual show is still lacking something for me. I love it, but I don't watch it as intently as I do other shows. Hopefully as the season finale comes closer, the storylines will tighten up a bit and it will all click for me.

and by "honest" I mean "hottest" geez am I tired. (although they do seem to be an honest bunch as well)

Have you been watching Outlander? Caitriona Balfe could be her twin at times, Especially when she smiles; it's uncanny.
