Mother Mary, how seasonal...

Well, as you probably already know, Mary Cheney and her longtime partner Heather Poe are expecting a child. The vice president’s lesbian daughter has always been the most prickly and frustrating of dichotomies to me. So let’s get right to the key issue here. Ladies, the hair. The hair. Is this really the kind of hair we want bringing a child into the world? Is this the kind of hair that represents happy, healthy gay parenting? Is this the kind of hair that says, “Screw you conservative wingnuts!” and “Thanks, but no thanks liberal activists,” we’re doing this our way? I think not. This is the kind of hair that barks orders to sweaty yet nubile basketball players from the sidelines at Virginia Tech.

right. mary and partner need to watch the L Word. Anyone who watches Showtime knows that lesbians give really good hair! By the way, Dorothy, I really like your template. How did you get a photo/image in the title bar. I'd greatly appreciate a link or something explaining how to a non techno blogger.
thanks
suerte!

An old gf and I used to call it That Hair...as in, "At the Indigo Girls concert, we were surrounded by girls with That Hair". And of course, That Hair comes in several subvarieties such as Coach Hair (as you so rightly call these two), Softball Hair, and Forever Short.

Good times!

Haha . . . Give me a moment . . .

I have to say, I prefer the muppetish hair-dos of the L Word to The Hair any day.

I'm totally guilty of having similar hair (although at least mine moves when the wind blows, unlike Mary's helmet there). Problem is, I just don't know what else to do with it.

I've considered just shaving it all off for simplicity, but that wouldn't be wise for my job and it'd just move me into the "punk/trendy lesbian hair" category.
